CRITIQUING TOOLS

BASIC ELEMENTS OF DESIGN
Line:a formation of people or things one beside another.
color:a visual attribute of things that results from the light they emit or transmit or reflect.
texture:the feel of a surface or a fabric.
shape: any spatial attributes (especially as defined by outline).
form: the phonological or orthographic sound or appearance of a word that can be used to describe or identify something.


BASIC PRINCIPLES OF DESIGN
Stability: the quality or attribute of being firm and steadfast.
dynamics: the branch of mechanics concerned with the forces that cause motions of bodies.
rhythm: an interval during which a recurring sequence of events occurs.
scale: an ordered reference standard.


ART VOCABULARY LIST
Proportion: the quotient obtained when the magnitude of a part is divided by the magnitude of the whole.
Palette: the range of colour characteristic of a particular artist or painting or school of art.
Stroke:  a light touch with the hands.
monumental: relating or belonging to or serving as a monument.
Blur: become glassy; lose clear vision.


ADJECTIVE LIST
thin: lessen the strength or flavor of a solution or mixture.
bright : emitting or reflecting light readily or in large amounts.
deep: the central and most intense or profound part.
smooth:  the act of smoothing.
